About School:
Bluebird British International School provides comprehensive education for children from two to twelve years of age. Students are immersed in a nurturing environment, where a love of learning is fostered from a young age. Bluebird uses the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC), International primary Curriculum (IPC) and Khmer National Curriculum, providing students with the groundwork for academic success.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Mandarin Chinese for students of various age groups and proficiency levels.
- Develop and implement effective curriculum and lesson plans that meet the learning objectives and standards of the school.
- Monitor and assess students’ progress through regular evaluations, assignments, and exams.
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their language skills.
- Incorporate Chinese culture, traditions, and history into lessons to enrich students’ understanding and appreciation of the language.
- Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Work closely with other teachers and staff to coordinate activities and support students’ academic and personal development.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding students’ progress, behavior, and achievements.
- Participate in school meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities to continually improve teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Native Mandarin Chinese Speaker with excellent command of both written and spoken Chinese.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Chinese Language, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Be able to communicate in English.
- Previous experience teaching Chinese as a second language, preferably in an international school setting.
- Strong communication skills in both Chinese and English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
- Passion for teaching and commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse setting.
